Arm Lift Procedures

Brachioplasty (Arm Lift)

Brachioplasty, or an arm lift, removes sagging, excess skin and fat from the upper arms, often caused by weight loss, aging, or reduced skin elasticity. Despite an active lifestyle and healthy diet, the upper arms can be particularly resistant to toning. Since the arms are difficult to conceal, loose skin in this area can significantly affect a person’s confidence and clothing choices.

Dr. Godwin specializes in arm contouring and understands the frustration that comes with stubborn skin laxity. Through brachioplasty, he can dramatically enhance the shape and definition of the upper arms, creating a firmer, more toned appearance. This procedure eliminates excess skin and fat along the undersurface of the arms, restoring a sleeker and more youthful contour that diet and exercise alone cannot achieve.

Beyond the physical transformation, an arm lift can significantly enhance a patient’s confidence. Clothes fit better, movement feels more comfortable, and the arms appear naturally toned. While results are long-lasting, maintaining a stable weight and an active lifestyle will help preserve the improved contour for years to come.

Procedure

Excess skin and fat are carefully removed, and the remaining tissue is sculpted for a smoother, more toned appearance. Dr. Godwin strategically places an incision along the inner or back portion of the arm, ensuring it remains as discreet as possible. Liposuction is performed to eliminate stubborn fat deposits for enhanced contouring if needed. The skin is then redraped and tightened before closing the incisions with sutures and applying dressings.

Dr. Godwin’s meticulous technique ensures natural-looking results while minimizing visible scarring.

Recovery

You will need transportation home after surgery, and a friend or family member should stay with you for the first 24 hours. Dr. Godwin will prescribe pain medication to help manage discomfort.

Swelling and bruising are expected but will gradually subside over the following weeks. A compression garment will support healing and help reduce swelling. Light activities can resume within a few days, while strenuous exercise should be avoided for about six weeks.

Most patients feel significantly better within 2-3 weeks, with continued improvement as swelling resolves. Dr. Godwin provides personalized post-op care and closely monitors your recovery to ensure optimal results.
